Here is a collection of Frequently Asked Questions to help those who just arrived and to prevent millions of identical topics.
Q: Hello, I have just registered. Where should I start? A: You should start by reading the rules and regulations of the forum here. You may then post about yourself in the Introduction Thread here. Please do not create a personal "Hello" thread. Remember that as the title says, Guild Wars Guru is about Guild Wars. Write in clear english, please. If you are unsure, use Spell-Check. Avoid internet-speak and things like "u", "bcuz" "plz" and other silliness such as l33tsp33k. Avoid posting in a hurry: better not to post at all than post an unreadable block of text. If you want to write anything in another language, please provide a short translation in english. Also do not register only to beg for an access key, to troll or to spam the forums. No "Yay first post!" threads. Q: What are the controls for Guild Wars? A: You may find the controls here. Q: Will my computer run Guild Wars? A: The (current) minimum requirements are: * Windows?? XP/2000/ME/98 * Intel Pentium?? III 800 Mhz or equivalent * 256 MB RAM * CD-ROM Drive * 500 MB Available HDD Space * ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX Series Video Card with 32MB of VRAM * 16-bit Sound Card * Internet connection * Keyboard and mouse If you have anything better, GW should work. I have personally tried the game on a GeForce 2 GTS card and it worked. Q: When will the game be released? A: Quote:
A: Yes, there are no monthly fees. Q: Can you choose your race in Guild Wars? A: Not at the moment. There were several of such threads so look here for more information. Q: Are there mounts? A: No, at the moment there are no mounts. You can read this thread for more information. Q: I heard the level cap is 20. Is it true? If yes, why is it so low? A: Yes, the level cap is 20. Guild Wars is not about leveling up. The low cap emphasises the game on skill and not the level. For more information consult this thread. Q: What happens when you die? A: Quote:
A: You need to upload them first either on your personal webspace or on websites like Image Shack. Q: How do you change the colour of your text/make it bigger/post links/post pictures [etc]? A: You should read the vB Code List. Don't forget that all code entries start with ['code'] and end with [/'code']. Q: How to set my profile? A: The forum FAQ should help you. Q: I have other questions! A: Then you need to post them . Welcome, and make yourself at home. Finally, here's a piece of advice: Do not argue with Ensign. great post. I'm working on a FAQ similar to this for this forum right now, but for the time being I'll just sticky yours to the top until I'm done.
